What Do You Know?

What is it that you know about God that really helps you? Or what are some of your favorite things about Him?

He is Awesome, Unlimited, Almighty and Infinite and no matter how much I explore and find out there is always more to discover. And it helps me to know that He loves me and is ever Faithful and True. Now what about you?

Slow Down to Keep Up!

I hope you are all doing well and want to give you a word of encouragement. I assume you’re exercising “for your health” and to get results and not just for ego. So it’s probably a good idea to quit trying to keep up all the time and slow down and work on your technique. The better your form the greater the effect will be on your figure. Even if you’re doing less than the people on your DVD if you’ll work on your form you’ll be able to keep up eventually. And, YAY! - you always have the “pause” button. Remember that most of these people have already been working out consistently for months and years and some even decades. If you try to keep up for the sake of ego or compulsively trying to get super fast results your body will let you down. Then you may end up mentally hurt and physically injured. You’ll never get good results with bad form no matter how fast your frenzy. So just slow down and do it right because it’s not about keeping up with the exercise Jones’s but the goal is to “be the best that you can be.” So it’s ironic but if you want to speed up then you probably need to slow down.

Exercising or Training?

Having something to look forward to will help stay consistent and exercise better. It could be something as simple as a weight target or clothes size or possibly just being able to look forward to your next trip to the beach or pool. Or you could be training for a five or ten K or even a half or full marathon. How about being able to hike right up the mountain during hunting season or run down the court at open gym. Maybe you want to be able to keep up with the kids and do all the stuff you like to do without getting injured. It doesn’t really matter what it is just pick something to help motivate you. There’s a difference between just exercising and training. When your training for whatever it is you might want to train for it helps you be more intense and disciplined. When you add purpose to the process it’s easier to be persistent and prosper.

I’m thinking about joining the ranks of the warrior dash(www.warriordash.com) an extreme obstacle course race that’s about three miles. I haven’t signed up yet but just thinking about it has already helped change my exercise back into training. In the first rounds of many of the programs just the idea of getting through it is usually enough. But after several rounds you might start to slack and lose track. You need something to look forward to in order to maintain your new lifestyle. Sixty or ninety days completed is great but what’s next? What will you do with your new found health and fantastic fitness? Use it or lose it! Use it for whatever you want hiking, biking, racing or just chasing the kids. But find something to make your exercise training and you’ll soon find yourself at the finish line reigning!

Ripped in Resolve!

I started to think, “I don’t feel like exercising today!” and I didn’t and then I thought, “I feel like exercising!” and I did.

It’s amazing how much what you think affects how you feel. And if you want of feel stronger you have to yield to the right thoughts and cast down the wrong. Weakness and strength both start in the mind before they manifest in the body. So you are about as strong as you think you are. People usually don’t quit because of feebleness of body but because of frailness of mind. The body has great potential but it’s vitally important to exercise your mind if you want to “realize” it. You can do anything that you set your mind to so you need to make sure you take the time to get your mind set. “Decide, Commit, Succeed!” This is a great Beachbody motto and if you actually do it, it will work great. So just make sure you put enough effort into the deciding and committing process and then when your mind is set you’ll be sure to succeed. It won’t happen overnight but it will be happening every night after you exercise. You are exerting, resting and rebuilding as your mind and then your body get “better, stronger, faster!”

Don’t see yourself in the condition you are in or you will only remain in that condition. But get the right inner image and see what you will be. You have to see it before you can be it and believe it before you can receive it. So be of good courage and get the plan firmly established in your mind and then be relentless to stick with it. If you know that you can do it, you can do it and if you don’t you won’t. Don’t be held back by set backs but get up and keep get going. Everyday exercise your will on purpose to reinforce and get ripped in resolve. And when you get the victory on the inside it won’t be long before you start seeing it on the outside!

Change Your Mind Change Your Body

You need to exercise your mental muscle. Your mindset has a lot to do with what you end up seeing in the mirror. Once you decide exercise is going to be a regular part of your life like eating or taking a shower then you just make time to make it happen. You don’t have to be religious about it! It’s just something that you do. If you miss a meal hopefully you don’t freak out and if you miss your “regular” workout time it’s no different. You know that you will work it into your schedule somewhere because it’s become a part of your life. Unless you’re a little boy you probably don’t go for more than a few days without bathing. If you do you begin to feel yucky. And it’s the same once you change your lifestyle to include exercise. It’s really no big deal because you were made to move. So it’s your choice just decide that you like and make yourself think that way and pretty soon you will. It gives you a natural high and once you get past the beginning stages you’ll probably be hooked. So go ahead and get your fix and begin feeling fit and fantastic!

Press Through!

The first day back on the regular regimen after recovery week is always hard. Know this and be prepared to press through. It may almost seem like you’re starting over again but you will feel better tomorrow and the next day and by the end of the week your workouts won’t seem so hard. Make sure you get enough sleep the night before and good nutrition and come into the week prepared to “Bring it!” You’re either going to get your but kicked or kick butt or probably a bit of both but don’t despair you’re not back to where you started but well on your way to winning!
